These are the 4 main methods and hence examples of how tacit knowledge can be captured. Overall it is personality, whether one is introverted or extroverted. If they are comfortable allows individuals to express their thought more openly and hence expose more of their tacit knowledge, that is then able to be captured to use elsewhere.
Disadvantages
One major disadvantage is the fact that tacit knowledge is difficult to catch. The methods have a chance of failing and their explicit knowledge may not be identified. Because it is normally hard to express in words, it could caused problems for finders when they are trying to decode the true knowledge. This can be overcome and required careful detail to attention on words and actions and skill to focus on the desired intentions.

An individual can only create new knowledge when there is already a fundamental base of tacit knowledge upon which they can build and innovate. Individuals ‘develop explicit mental representations of knowledge already possessed implicitly’.
